My Valentine

All my life I’ve been waiting,

And all my life I’ve been hating.

Hating how they said that love is true,

Because I gave up believing it ‘till I met you.

I never knew I could fall so hard,

But I’m glad that I let down my guard.

I opened my heart,

Even though there was a chance it would again fall apart.

Except that never occurred,

Instead it feels like my heart has been cured.

And that’s because of you,

If you hadn’t come along I don’t know what I’d do.

I wouldn’t be able to see your gorgeous smile,

The one that makes everything worthwhile.

I wouldn’t be able to see your beautiful eyes,

The one’s that could brighten all the skies.

I wouldn’t be able to say I love you,

And you wouldn’t be able to say that to me too.

Most importantly you wouldn’t be mine,

But you are so I can say I love you my Valentine.
